Zhenge Daidan Memorial Park sits on a highland along the coastal avenue in Nangan Township, Lienchiang County, and is Matsu's most iconic symbol of wartime spirit. The park features the four-character 'Zhenge Daidan' (Sleep on Weapons, Await the Dawn) stele and a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, with a spacious observation deck overlooking Fuao Port, Magang Port, Tieban Bay, and the surrounding coastline. Luobang Mountain Nature Trail, in Beigan Township, Lienchiang County, is a coastal trail about 700 meters long that runs along cliffs and ridgelines with sea on three sides. The open sightlines take in Beigan's smaller islands and Matsu's highest peak. The trailhead is at Stronghold 12 of the War and Peace Memorial Park; the route is gentle with multiple observation decks, well-suited for families and casual hikers. The full walk takes about 40-60 minutes, passing granite walls, rockfall-warning signs, and seasonal wild lilies. Some short steep sections use ropes, but overall difficulty is low, and the trail is free to access.
