Fulong Mountain Trail on Guanyin Mountain, Wugu District is a family-friendly hiking trail about 1,315 meters long, starting near Wugu Shan'an Temple and ending at Lingyun Zen Temple. The trail is divided into two sections by Lingyun Road — the first 400 meters follows a stream and bamboo grove, while the second 700 meters passes a countryside restaurant area before ascending to Lingyun Temple. Originally a Buddhist pilgrimage route with 33 Buddha statues along the way, it blends history, culture, and natural scenery for a relaxed family hike.

Santa Maria Family Amusement Park on the 4th floor of Santa Maria Factory in Tucheng District is a macaron-colored indoor children's play space covering about 150 ping. It offers over 10 themed facilities including mini cars, LEGO puzzles, a carousel, ball pit, giant slide, and sandbox, plus DIY bread, cookie, and cake workshops. Butterfly Trail in Wulai's Butterfly Park is a family-friendly nature path about 1 kilometer long. The flat route of mostly gravel and wooden boardwalk is suitable for strollers. Clear irrigation channels and streams run alongside the path, and walkers can enjoy the sound of flowing water while observing butterflies and other wildlife. The entire trail takes about one hour, is open all day, and free to enter, with parking and public restrooms available — ideal for families, seniors, and first-time hikers.

Guanyin Mountain Trail in Wugu District is a family-friendly forest canopy walk in the Guanyin Mountain National Scenic Area. About 800 meters of wooden boardwalk and steel bridges, flat and shaded — suitable for strollers, seniors, and children. Starting from the Guanyin Mountain Visitor Center (reachable by bus routes Orange 20 and 785, or from Luzhou MRT), the trail offers forest views, mountain panoramas, and glimpses of the Linkou plain. Near Lingyun Temple and Tamsui riverbank. Completely free, it's an ideal choice for family nature walks and easy hiking.

Baobao Coffee Forest Hall next to Guanyin Mountain Visitor Center in Wugu District combines coffee, light meals, and cat interaction in a family-friendly setting. The double-height interior frames forest views, with both indoor and outdoor seating perfect for a post-hike rest. The highlight is six resident Bengal cats — visitors can interact up close on weekdays and observe from the second floor on weekends. The menu features pasta, truffle dishes, signature coffee, and desserts, all in a cat-themed decor. Nearby raptor exhibit and Linshao Trail make it ideal for a half-day family outing.

Houtong Cat Village beside Houtong Station combines railway nostalgia with cat-themed family fun. The village's cats are healthy and friendly, cared for by local residents — great for photos and interaction. Beyond the cats, visitors can explore mining heritage sites like the Coal Mine Museum, old street, and Cat Bridge, experiencing the town's history and slow-paced lifestyle. Open all day, free admission. Recommended visit: 1–2 hours, good in both sunny and overcast weather.
